Patsy Louise Childers, 77, of Nettie passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
She was born on June 18, 1949 at Hominy Falls; she was the daughter of the late Granville Amick and Darlene Hudkins Amick.
In addition to her family, she is preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Copenhaver and a brother-in-law, Pat Seabolt.
Patsy was a member of Peniel Community Church of Hominy Falls. Patsy had worked at Bright of America, Summersville Hospital and Webster Home Health Care. She had no children of her own but she loved all children and they loved her, she taught them all about God and how to sing and do crafts. She made quilts for fundraisers. She was a big advocate of cancer patients in this area, raising money through Mary Sue and Peggy Lou Cancer Crusaders. She loved to help neighbors, making food for family gatherings and always willing to help others.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jerrell Ray Childers; a daughter, Annette (Arnold) Jarvis of Summersville; son, Rodney (Misty) Childers of Fairmont; sisters, Dorothy Seabolt of Hampton, VA, Shirley (Kenneth) Legg of Canton, OH, Judy (Terry) Frazer of Nettie; brothers, William Edsel Amick of Hampton, VA and Guy (Sheryn) Amick of Hominy Falls; brother-in-law, Delbert Copenhaver; grandchildren, Cody Childers. Cameron (Miranda) Childers, Alyssa (Aaron) Gainer, Joseph (Ruby) Amendola, Priscilla (Zachery) Fields; 4 great grandchildren and one on the way; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2026 at Peniel Community Church with Pastor Danny Legg and Pastor Gary Eisenman officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Nettie. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
