Selena Weikle

Selena Kay Weikle, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on June 8, 2026, following a long illness. While her passing leaves a profound void, her life was a beautiful testament to love, generosity, and devotion to family and community. Her passing comes just two months after the loss of her devoted husband, Billy Weikle, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage, creating a legacy of love that will continue for generations.

Born to the late Mason and Pauline Dowdy, Kay dedicated her life to caring for and uplifting those around her. A devoted homemaker, she found her greatest happiness in her family and took immense pride in the lives and accomplishments of those she loved. Beyond her home, Kay made a lasting impact on countless young people through her involvement in Little League Softball. As a coach and mentor, she encouraged teamwork, confidence, perseverance, and sportsmanship, leaving an enduring mark on the lives of many girls in her community.

Kay leaves behind her loving children: Joe Weikle and wife Crystal; Brian Weikle; Angela Berry and husband Eric; and Kelly Weikle. She was a proud grandmother to Mason Weikle, Caleb Weikle, and Samantha Berry, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy and were among her greatest blessings.

She is also survived by her brother, Bobby Dowdy and wife Barb; sister-in-law Rita Dowdy (Rick); brother-in-law Billy Defibaugh (Rachel) nephews Billy Defibaugh and Steven Defibaugh; nieces Margaret Dodd, Julie Honaker Hackney, Susan Dowdy Morrison, and Stephanie Dowdy Hamilton; as well as many cherished great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her warmth and kindness.

In addition to her husband, Billy Weikle, and her parents, Mason and Pauline Dowdy, Kay was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest. Those include her beloved brother Rick Dowdy and sisters, Rachel Defibaugh and Linda Honaker (Jeff)

Kay will be remembered not only for her kindness and strength, but also for the warmth she shared so freely, the encouragement she offered so generously, and the lasting difference she made in the lives of others. Her caring spirit, steady guidance, and unwavering support helped shape her family and community, and her influence will continue to be felt for years to come.

The family finds comfort in celebrating a life so well lived and in knowing that Kay is reunited with Billy. Together, they leave behind a remarkable legacy of love, family, friendship, and community that will continue to inspire all who knew them.
