Gary Simmons, Sr.

Gary William Simmons, Sr. 74, of Hines passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Peyton Hospice House.

He was born on February 17, 1952 in Warrington, Virginia; he was the son of the late Julian Sylvester Simmons and Myrtle Frances Hudnall.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Gary “Little Buck” Simmons, Jr.; brothers, Carl Simmons, Jimmy Simmons and Terry Simmons.

He enjoyed watching westerns, four wheeler riding and loved eating cheeseburgers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Myrtle (Justin) Darby, Rose Simmons, Madonna (Aubrey) Riffle; sisters, Jean Kersey, Barbara Bell, Brenda Goins, Mary Simmons and Linda Sloan; brother, Ronnie Simmons; grandchildren, Ryder Darby, Brianna Darby, Brittany Morris, Julie Simmons, Justin Simmons, Andrae Simmons, Terry Simmons, Megan Buchanan; 6 great grandchildren; special friend, Ashley Cutlip; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and no services.
