Diane Scarbro

Diane Scarbro, 71, of Ansted passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Ansted Center.

She was born on September 27, 1954 at Gauley Bridge; she was the daughter of the late Meredith Lee “Big Chew” Scarbro and Drema June Legg Scarbro.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Tammy Scarbro and Kathie Bennett.

Diane was a supervisor for 38 years at WV Department of Human Services and was influential with setting policies. She loved sports, particularly baseball and tennis. She was a big fan of the Beatles and Christian music. Diane’s biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family and keeping them close.

Survivors include her brother, Jr Scarbro and Sherrie of Victor, nephews, Hunter Scarbro of Ansted, Jeremy Bennett (Nora) of St. Mathews, SC; great nephews, Chase Scarbro, Jacob Bennett, Curtis Bennett and Bryson Bennett.

Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2026 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Ansted with Pastor Wade Samples officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral chapel.
