Wanda Mae Kessler, 84, of Hico passed away on September 10, 2026 at Bowers Hospice House.
She was born on January 11, 1942 at Tamroy, she was the daughter of the late Hosey H. Hundley and Allie Mae Fine Hundley.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Lowell Kessler on October 18, 2018 and was a true partner on the farm; 2 great grandchildren, Cassandra Jean Kessler and Piper Jayde Kessler; sister, Helen Louise Pleasants; brothers, Hosey H. “Sonny” Hundley, Jackie Ray Hundley and Steven Hundley.
Wanda was a fan of a huge flower garden, which she called God’s Garden and made all her own clothes. She was an excellent cook. Her specialties were pumpkin and apple pies, peanut butter cookies and dinner rolls. She was a long-standing member of Sunday Road Baptist Church of Hico, a member of the Fayette County Farm Bureau and she was a former soil conservation farmer of the year along with her husband.
Those left to cherish her memory are 4 children, John Charles Kessler, Andrew Lowell Kessler, Connie Sue Kessler, Harvey Gerald Kessler; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Sunday Road Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens at Victor. Visitation will be from 1:00 until time of service at the church.
