Thomas Grover “Tom” “Tommy” Cook, 88, of Leslie passed away on April 12, 2026 at White Sulphur Springs Center.
He was born on August 16, 1937 at Leslie, WV; he was the son of the late William Woodrow Cook, Sr. and Dorothy Eleanor (Robinson) Cook.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Jill Wheeler and Judy McClung; brothers Billy Cook and Benny Cook.
Tommy was an US Army veteran and a carpenter. He lived an extraordinary life marked by integrity, kindness, and passion, leaving behind a legacy as a master craftsman, builder, and an inspirational figure whose impact will never fade. His love for his work and fishing was a testament to his character, and we’re forever grateful for the lessons he taught us about living a life of purpose and service.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sabrina Gunther (Terry) of Normandy, TN; sister, Jean Clingan of Quinwood; brother, Terry Cook; two grandchildren, Sabrina Elaine Myers (David) of Tullahoma, TN and LaTricia Schusterick (Will) of Dalton, VA; five great grandchildren, Ezra Myers, Oliver Myers and Finley Myers all of Tullahoma, TN and Liam Schusterick and Lily Schusterick both of Dalton, GA.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2026 at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 1:00 at Wallace & Wallace, Rainelle.
