Gracie Rexrode

Gracie Ellen Rexrode, 84, of Lewisburg, formerly of Clintonville, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Peyton Hospice House.

Born September 29, 1941 at Hico, WV, she was a daughter of the late Harry Warden Metheney and Mildred Edith Perry Metheney.

She was a member of Shuck Memorial Baptist Church in Lewisburg and was a retired school teacher.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Verna Maurer and a brother, Richard Andrew Metheney.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, William Lee Rexrode; children, Rebecca Lee Aken (Jeremiah) and Mark Lee Rexrode (Amy); two grandchildren, Bethany and Eden; sisters, Betty Sorrell (Gary) and Linda Leake (Joe); two brothers, Harry W. Metheney, Jr. (Kathy) and Harlan Leroy Metheney (Joy); a sister-in-law, Judy Metheney and a special niece, Debbie Hanson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Shuck Memorial Baptist Church, Lewisburg, with Rev. Ron Miller and Rev. Jonathan Turner officiating. Entombment will follow at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum at Crawley, WV.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy be made to the Shuck Memorial Baptist Deacon Assistance Fund.
