Roy Eldon Fields, 78, of Nettie passed away on November 25, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

He was born on March 25, 1947 at Richwood; he was the son of the late Marley Delt Fields and Anna Bell Martin.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Fields; sisters: Marie Fields and Virginia Synder; brothers: Delmas Fields, Landis “Buck” Fields, Arlie “Smokey” Fields, and Lundy Fields.


Survivors include daughters: Amanda (Jason) Davis, Marsha (Todd) Russell; sons: Anthony (Loretta) Fields, Eric Fields; grandchildren: Danielle Sasso, Christopher Fields, James Murphy, Skyler Davis, Blaine Davis, Grant Russell, Tyler Barnhouse, Layla Russell, Nade Russell; great-grandchildren: Grady Sasso, and Addy Murphy.

Roy was a member of the UMWA and Potomac Highlands Wounded Warriors Outreach. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. An equipment operator by trade, he worked in the woods and on strip mines.

Services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Wallace & Wallace, Rainelle at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bradley Boyce officiating. Burial will follow at Fields Cemetery in Nettie.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service on Monday.
