Phyllis (Weese) Amick

Phyllis Ann (Weese) Amick, 94, of Hurricane, went to her heavenly home on Monday August 17, 2026 at Rolling Meadows Assisted Living., Scott Depot, WV.

She was born in Saxman, WV; the daughter of the late James Ross and Nina Weese.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, William Homer Amick; granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn French; brother, Elbon Weese and an infant sister, Janet Weese.

Phyllis was a retired nurse from St. Francis Hospital. She attended Dunbar Mountain Mission, until moving to Hurricane and then attended Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church until her health prevented her from going.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son Gary (Kathi) Amick of Hurricane and a daughter, Brenda (Barry) Corbett of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Aaron (Tara) Amick, Todd (Mikhaela) Amick, Kalynn (Tony) Willey, and Danielle (Beau) Mackie; great grandchildren, Colton, Tessa, Camdyn, Brenna, Sawyer, Breelyn, Daren, Ryella and Beau Daniel.

Service will be 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle. Entombment will follow at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville. Visitation will be 1:00 until time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to St. Judes Research Children’s Hospital. This was a foundation Phyllis supported.
