Darrell McCoy

Darrell R. McCoy, 77, of Frankford passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026 at Peyton Hospice House with his loving family by his side.

He was born September 9, 1948 in Renick and was the son of the late Tom and Gillie Lewis McCoy.

Darrell attended Gethsemane Baptist Church and was an avid deer hunter who had a deep appreciation for wildlife and the outdoors. He also enjoyed gardening and took great pleasure in spending time outside. Darrell never met a stranger and will be remembered for the smile he always wore, his quick wit, and his love of sharing a good joke. His warm and friendly nature brought joy and laughter to those around him.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his son Keith McCoy.

Darrell is survived by his daughters; Kathy Mann of Lewisburg and Sheri McMillion (Billy) of Frankford; grandchildren, Breanna Kast (Jordan), Jerry Mann III (Elly), Tyler McMillion, Adam McMillion, Katie McCoy, Heather McCoy and; several great grandchildren; siblings, Eveleenia Cochran (Pastor Marshall Cochran), Hobert McCoy (Mickey), Eugene McCoy (Nadine) and Dale McCoy; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Darrell will be Thursday July 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Gethsemane Baptist Church, Frankford with Pastor Marshall Cochran officiating, interment will follow at the Ellis Chapel Cemetery on Brushy Flats.

The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 PM until time of services on Thursday at the church. Deepest thanks and gratitude to Autumn Way Assisted Living facility and Peyton Hospice House for their hospitality, care, support and love to Darrell and the family.
