Gary Harris

Gary G. “Tally” Harris, 81, of Smoot passed away on June 17, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on March 1, 1945 at Elton, WV; he was the son of the late Ocie Carl Harris and Eula Jenessee Forren Harris.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Harris Gwinn; brothers, Floyd, Kanso, James C., Harold, Bill, Franklin, Guy and Jack.

Gary was a US Army Vietnam Veteran with Bronze Service Star. He was a coal miner and had formerly worked at Chrysler. He never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Keitha Holliday Harris; daughter, Tanya (Mark) Hardin of Beaverdam, Virginia; son, Joseph (Terri) Harris of Antioch, Tennessee; Son-in-law, Eddie Gwinn; brother, Bob Harris of Meadow Bridge; 10 grandchildren, Chris, Ridge(Elizabeth), Austin, Jacob (Nikki), Kylie, Thomas, Johnathan, Holliday, Kaydence and Graeson; 4 great grandchildren, Mila, Katheryn, Luca and Autumn; extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel, Rainelle on Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. with Army military rites at 7:00 p.m. At the conclusion of the visitation devotions will be led by Mr. Tom Patterson.
