Clarence “Alden” Taylor Sr. joined his partner Veronica “Sissy” Taylor in Heaven on June 9, 2026. Alden was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. His sons, Tommy Taylor, Charlie Taylor, and Donald Wilson and grandson Shawn Bosold.
He was born January 8, 1935 in Victor, WV and was the son of the late Abel Andrew and Rebecca Georgianna Bryant Taylor.
Alden worked many different jobs throughout his life. He was a mechanic and bus driver for North American River Runners and retired from ACE adventures as a mechanic and bus driver. Playing the guitar was one of the many hobbies Alden had. He loved to sit on his porch and play guitar with friends, or just pick Wildwood Flower while Sissy sang along. He would travel all over to play the guitar for people whether it be a music hall or church. Alden could play any instrument he picked up.
One of the times that him and Sissy enjoyed was taking their great grandkids (River, Lilli, Canyon, Ivy, Eden, and Sue) to McDonald’s and Dollar Tree. Alden loved to make people laugh and tell stories. He always had a story to tell. His favorites were talking about eating hot dogs out of dryers, riding a cow, or taking a trip to Jackstown.
He will be missed by his son Clarence Taylor Jr., Mark Moses, and daughter Judy Moses (Tammy). His grandchildren that adored him Jason Bosold (great granddaughter Skylar), Tiffany Moses, Mark Moses (Mikayla), Nathan Moses, Charlie Taylor Jr., Stephanie Fox, Chasity Taylor, and Christin Taylor, and Gage Wilson. Alden also has many nieces, nephews, friends and other family that will miss him dearly.
The family will receive family and friends on Monday June 15, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Ansted.
Funeral services for Alden Taylor, Sr. will be Monday June 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Steven Oliver Smith officiating, interment will follow at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Victor, WV.
When asked, the meaning of paradise to him, Johnny Cash answered “Morning coffee with her”.
