Steven LeRoy Harrell, 58, of Edmond, WV, passed away on May 27, 2026. A lifelong resident of Fayette County, he was a graduate of Midland Trail High School.
A true “jack of all trades,” Steven was the third-generation owner of Harrell’s Farm Supply in Lookout, WV, and co-owner of S&D Trucking. Most recently, he worked for the WV DOH in several positions, often remarking that he felt like he was “paid to play” whenever he got to operate heavy equipment. He was an early member of the Nuttall Volunteer Fire Department and Treasurer and Secretary of the Nuttall Community Center. He loved boating and fishing and his teams were the Dallas Cowboys, Rusty Wallace, and Ford.
Steve was the kind of guy who believed in doing a job right the first time, loved helping others, and boy did he have stories to tell. (Alternate ending: could always be counted on for a good story.)
His family’s fondest memories are of the many pranks and shenanigans he orchestrated or participated in. Forever a “momma’s boy,” he will be laid to rest alongside his parents, by his mom’s side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Inge Harrell, and his sister, Debbie Wise.
He is survived by his sister, Teresa Martin, her husband Howard, and their four children: Jakob, Samuel, Megan, and Kimberly; his sister, Cindy Hawley, her husband Dennis, and their son, Jesse, his wife Stephanie, and their daughter, Ellie; his niece, Candice Redd, her husband Julian, and their sons: Julian Jr. and Noah; his niece, Amy Yoke and her daughters, Lilyan and Josephine; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel with Pastor Daniel Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Jennette Cemetery at Lookout. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until time of service at the funeral home.
