Arden Baker

Arden Lee Baker, 91, of Sweet Springs, WV, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Peyton Hospice House surrounded by his family.

Born July 31, 1934 at Sweet Springs, he was a son of the late Albra K. and Camilla Bowling Baker.

Arden was a retired Recovery Operator for the former Westvaco Mill in Covington, and was of the Methodist faith. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the Lions Club in Union for many years He loved auctions and flea markets and never met a stranger.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Christopher Lee Baker, sisters, Jean Baker White and Phyllis Baker Maddox and a brother, Charles Baker.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Judith Ruble Baker; a son, Shawn Kelly Baker (Erika); four grandchildren, Bryce (Payton), Nolan, Ava and Camilla; and several nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes Arden will be cremated and there is no service scheduled at this time.
