Patricia McCoy

Patricia Sue McCoy, 70, of Ronceverte passed away on Thursday May 21, 2026 at the Peyton Hospice House after a short but hard battle with cancer.

Patty was the youngest child of Earl H. and Lula Deem Ridgeway. She was born at home on February 29, 1955 in Ronceverte. Patty spent most of her life working in the food service industry but also worked at Kellwood and the Register Herald newspaper in Beckley.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents: brothers, James H. and William “Bill” Ridgeway; sister Shirley Schultz; sister in laws, Joyce and Cindy Ridgeway; and step-son, Gary L. McCoy, Jr.

Patty is survived by her husband, Gary L. McCoy, Sr.; children, Karla Workman and husband Phillip, Jackie Williams and husband Todd and Andy Wykle; grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah and Haley Workman; Karlie, JT and Michael Williams and Ainsly, Briauna and Andrew Wykle; brother Robert “Bobby” Ridgeway; brother in laws, Ronald Schultz, Tom McCoy and wife Sharon and Tim McCoy and wife Paula.

A graveside service for the family will be held on Saturday May 30th at the Ketron Cemetery in Ronceverte, WV with Reverend Paula McCoy officiating.
