We fondly remember Doris Lee Mosley, who quietly passed away in Cincinnati, OH, on March 12, 2026, a day before her 100th birthday. Born in Rainelle, WV, Doris was the eldest child of the late Thomas Lee and Laura (Connie) Mosley. She attended Bluefield State College and later earned a master’s from the University of Virginia. Doris devoted her career to teaching math and French in Prince Edward County, VA, encouraging both her siblings and students to pursue education.
Though she never married or had children, Doris played a central role in her extended family and was a supportive aunt to her nieces and nephews, and their families. A lifelong learner, she enjoyed reading, travel, and church involvement at First Baptist Church of Rainelle. After retirement, she returned to Rainelle and later moved to Cincinnati, where she spent her last years cared for by her late sister, Elia (Edy), and her brother Everett (Gene). Doris was also predeceased by her brothers Thomas, Richard, John, David, Michael, and Alvin, her sisters Patricia and Ferne, and her niece, Susan. She is survived by her brother Everett, sister Emma of Pittsburgh, PA, her loving nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The family offers special thanks to Sister Patricia Rice, the staff of Hospice of Cincinnati, Family Bridges Home Care, and the members of First Baptist Church of Rainelle and Big Sewell Missionary Baptist Church, for their prayers and support. Visitation will be held on March 19, from 5pm-7pm at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, WV. A graveside service will be on March 20, at 12:00pm at Trails End Cemetery, Clintonville, WV. We appreciate the compassionate care of our loved one by Wallace and Wallace, Inc.
