CAROL SEBERT THOMPSON

Carol Sebert Thompson, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 22, 2026

at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born August 13, 1939 in Lookout, WV she was the daughter of Estle and Neta Sebert. Carol was a proud graduate

of Nuttall High School, Class of 1958, and a life long member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Lookout,

where her faith and fellowship were central to her life.

Carol lived a life centered on love, family and devotion. A strong and caring mother, she dedicated herself to her children and found her greatest joy in the generations that followed. She loved to feed people and was well known for her homemade biscuits and potato salad–no one ever left her table hungry. Gathering family and friends together brought her

happiness and her home was a place of warmth, laughter and full plates.

She was preceded in death by her parents Estle and Neta Sebert, her husband Woodrow Thompson, siblings Charles Sebert, Kathleen Hypes, Sybil Kidder and Douglas Sebert, daughter, Donna Cook and grandsons, Larry Thompson, Cole Thompson and Damon Mooney.

She is survived by her brother Elza and Faye Sebert; children, Robert Thompson, James and Delores Thompson, Jerry and Merrideth Thompson, Glenn and Andrea Thompson, Linda and Jim Snow, Elizabeth Hubbard, Kimberly Hike and Dianna Thompson.

She also leaves behind her special adopted family Alvin and Jenny Walker, Missy, Nathan and Maggie Mooney, Jamey and Tara Walker, Matt and Kimberly Walker.

Carol was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved dearly. Many nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

Carol’s legacy is one of unconditional love, steady faith and generous spirit. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared–around her table and throughout her life will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, 6:00 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Chapel, Ansted, WV, with Pastor Michael Loudermilk and Jamey Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of services.

It was Carol’s wishes to be cremated.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made, in honor of her life, to Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV.
