Karl Orkis

Karl Russell “Rusty” Orkis, 68, of Meadow Bridge passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley following a long illness.

He was the son of the Karl Chester Orkis and Margaret Arlena Carr Orkis.

He attended Meadow Bridge High School and afterwards worked heavy construction in West Virginia and various states. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed local car shows and driving his miata. Driving was a way of life for him.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Orkis of Meadow Bridge, his brother, James (Linda) Orkis of Rainelle, his daughter, Joyelle (Bill) Thomas of Meadow Bridge and two grandchildren, Erin and Alec.
