Donald Fitzwater

Donald Ray Fitzwater, 86, of Rupert passed away on late Monday night, January 19, 2026 at Peyton Hospice House.

He was born on May 19, 1939 in Jodie, WV; he was the son of the late Mahone Brady Fitzwater and Glenda Mae Skidmore Fitzwater.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Mae Johnson Fitzwater in 2001 and his brother, Jack Fitzwater.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen (Matthew) Butler of Alderson; sons, James Fitzwater of Scarbro, Duane (Heather) Fitzwater of Leslie, Timothy (Karen) Fitzwater of Rupert and Mahone Fitzwater of Charmco; sister, Dinah Rose; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; extended family.

Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastro Ward Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of service.
