We lovingly remember Clarence O. (Elvis) Dempsey, who passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 1, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his parents Raleigh and Mildred, siblings Eugene, Eva, and Emory, and his granddaughter Jessi.
Clarence was a kind, patient man who never met a stranger. His eternal faith, easy warmth, and genuine love for people made him a friend to many. Nature and wildlife were some of his favorite simple joys. He had a deep affinity for music and frequently sang in church as a testimony to his faith; he was a lifelong guitar player. He cherished every moment spent with family and was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. For more than 32 years, he served the state of West Virginia with dedication, combining his passion for driving with a genuine commitment to helping others.
Clarence is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Christine, son Jeremy, daughters Jennifer and Leslie, daughter-in-law Amanda, and sons-in-law James and Nick. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Darren, Jason, Jeremy, Davey, Brooke, Dylan, Archer, great-granddaughter Lauren, and granddaughter-in-law Mikaela, along with his 6 surviving siblings Evelyn, Joanne, Sonny, Ralph, Carolyn, Ray, and many other family members.
Clarence’s faith in Jesus, his kindness, and his love leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew him.
