Patricia Brown

Patricia Mae Hylton Brown, lovingly known to everyone as Pat, 75, of Ronceverte, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Pat was born on March 6, 1951, in Ronceverte, West Virginia, the town she proudly called home her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Earnest Alvon Hylton and Cinderella Simmons Morgan Hylton.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Gary Lee Brown; her son, Shannon Brown (Pam); and her daughter, Cindy Stover (Harry).

Her greatest joy was her family. Pat is survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Hambrick (Michael), Stephanie Wood (Daniel), Tiffany Brown (Preston), and Brayson Stover; and her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Hambrick, Nataleigh Hambrick, Elijah Hambrick, Hayden Cloud, and Huntley Wood.

She is also survived by her siblings, Dorsey Hylton (Dorothy), Vickie O’Brien (Paul), Martha Snedegar (Tommy), Danny Hylton (Sarah), Anna Brooks (Rodney), Daron Hylton (Wendy), Jimmy Hylton (Teresa), and Sharon Hylton. She was preceded in death by her siblings Kenneth Hylton, Jesse Hylton (Kathleen), and Sharon Gwinn.

Pat dedicated 37 years of her life to serving others at Greenbrier Manor, where she worked in the Dietary Department until her retirement in 2016. Her commitment, kindness, and hard work touched many lives throughout the years.

Pat cherished the simple things in life. She especially enjoyed creekside trips with her family, making memories that will be treasured forever. But more than anything, Pat loved being at home surrounded by the people she loved most. Her family was her greatest treasure.

Pat will forever be remembered for her bright spirit, beautiful smile, and wonderful laughter. Her presence brought warmth and happiness wherever she went, and the memories she created with her family will live on in their hearts forever.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort knowing that she is at peace and no longer suffering. Her love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will remain with her family always.
