Carolyn Hamrick

Carolyn Sue Hamrick, 78, of Smoot passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Peyton Hospice House.

She was born on September 22, 1947 at Montgomery; she was the daughter of the late Clint Bryant and Florence Mae Bryant.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kyle Steve Hamrick in 2021; her son, Shawn Kyle Hamrick in 2019 and a sister, Nancy Ballengee.

Carolyn was a school teacher for many years. She loved to read and loved sports. She loved her dogs, Rascal and Tanner.

Survivors include her brothers, Paul Bryant of Ohio, Leonard Lee Bryant (Penny) of WV and Curtis Junior Bryant (Evelyn) of KY; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Service will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2026 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Dr. George Bryant and Charles Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Maude Chapel Cemetery, Grassy Meadows Rd., Dawson. Visitation will be from 2:00 until time of service at the funeral home.
