Howard Miller

Howard Miller, 77, of Lookout passed away peacefully on July 23,2026 at Bower’s Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of Lee and Marie Smallwood Miller.

Howard had a lifelong love of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and cherished every opportunity to go hunting. He always had a great hunting story to tell, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone around him. He prided himself in being an ethical sportsman who believed hunting should remain a fair and challenging sport.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Louise Shrewsberry, Pat Wood, JoAnn Lester, and Becky Miller; and brothers Shirley Miller and Darrell Miller.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 44 years, Jean Caldwell Miller; a devoted daughter, Ashley Miller; a very special grandson, Landon Miller; a sister, Phyllis Deming of Mabscott, and many nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his mild manner, gentle heart, and the kindness he extended to family, friends, and all who knew him. Even though we have many memories to carry in our hearts, he will be terribly missed.

Services will be held at Wallace & Wallace, Ansted, WV on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Randy Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Kesler Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until the time of service.
