Carl “Cricket” Syner

Carl Eugene “Cricket” Syner from Hico, WV, passed on June 22, 2026 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in

Morgantown, WV.

Cricket was born on March 17, 1948 at Winona, WV to the late Edward Albert and Dorothy Louise Propps Syner. 

Those of his family who preceded him in death are his spouse, Janet Elaine Syner and a sister Bernice McClure.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law Tracy Syner and his wife Leah, who was Cricket’s

devoted caregiver. Two sisters: Betty Teagle, of Florida and Carol Jean Ewing (Keith) of Hico, WV; two brothers:

Clarence “Fuzz” Syner of Hico, WV and Johnny (Debbie) Syner of Lookout, WV. Grandchildren: Logan (Kayla),

Landon, Ryan (Cory), Kelly (Ben), Silas, and Dani and two great gandchildren: Gunner and Bentley, 

nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

Cricket was a coal miner and a member of UMWA, Hayden Lodge No. 166 A.F. & A.M. He loved to drive his 

grandbabies on his side-by-side. He LOVED those grandbabies!

Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Ansted with Pastor Adam Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens with Masonic Graveside RItes by Hayden Lodge No. 166 A.F & A.M. Visitation will be Friday evening, June 26, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Ansted.

The family would like to especially thank Leah Syner for her devotion and care she gave to Cricket and his family.
