Deena Wenger Dorton Montgomery

Deena Evelyn Wenger Dorton Montgomery, 81, of Grassy Meadows, WV passed away on June 12, 2026 at her home after a brief illness. She was born on September 27, 1944 in Quinmont, WV to the late D.E. “Tig” Wenger and Sadie Pugh Wenger. 

Deena was a 1962 graduate of Meadowbridge High School. Deena was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved to sew and craft.

Deena is proceeded in death by her parents D.E. “Tig” Wenger and Sadie Pugh Wenger and her late husband of fifty years, Kenneth Dorton.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Montgomery of Grassy Meadows, WV, daughters Diana (Rod) Bailey of Vansant, VA and Doris Dorton of Rowe, VA. Her stepchildren Terry (Maudee) Montgomery, Tammy (Mike) Church, Tina Montgomery and Tracy Montgomery, sister Doris Wenger Gwinn of Beckley, WV. Her grandchildren Jessica (Wade) Rose, Amy (Kris) Stiltner, Julie (Scott) Sexton, AshLee (Todd) Bailey and Jarrod (Rosaletta) Bailey, as well as 8 great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren

and a great great grandchild on the way. 

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at Greenhills Memory Garden in Claypool

Hill, VA on Monday, June 29 2026 at 1:00PM with the Rev. Phillip Hale officiating
