Dewey Lee Taylor, 62, of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, passed away surrounded by those who loved him most.
Dewey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his kindness, and the deep care he showed for his family throughout his life. Whether through quiet support or shared laughter, Dewey left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Dewey proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1983-1994 receiving an honorable discharge. He was a mechanic by trade, and could fix anything that needed repaired.
He was born on August 8th, 1963 in White Sulphur Springs to the late Kyle and Sarah Helen Karnes Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Taylor; his sons, Scotty Taylor (Becky) of Union, West Virginia, Thomas Taylor (Kenzie) of White Sulphur Springs, and Dewey Taylor (Heather) of Greenville; and four cherished grandchildren who brought him great pride and joy.
Dewey is also survived by his brothers, Douglas Karnes (Martha) of Bedford, Virginia, and Tony Taylor (Lisa) of White Sulphur Springs; and his sisters, Janet Wright (Frank) of Sweet Springs and Emily Alder (David) of Fairlea.
He was preceded in death by those who went before him, whom he carried in his heart throughout his life.
Dewey’s memory will live on in the love he gave, the lessons he shared, and the family he built. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at White Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, with Pastor Lewis Brooks and Pastor John Kelly officiating.
A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the church on Tuesday.
