JoAnne Matheney

JoAnne Matheney, 87, of Scott Depot formerly of Lookout and Russellville, passed away April 23, 2026 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.

She was born May 14, 1938 in Winona and was the daughter of the late Clarence “Trap” and Mary Wood McKnight.

JoAnne attended the Nitro Church of the Nazarene. She was a homemaker and loved quilting, yard sales and going out to eat with her nieces and nephews. JoAnne especially loved her grand babies.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Matheney and her six brothers; Danny Gene McKnight, Dayton McKnight, Carnell McKnight, Oscar McKnight, Franklin McKnight and Leroy McKnight.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Martha Lane (Bill) of Scott Depot and Faye Smith of Edmond; son, John (Pam) Matheney of Round Rock, TX. and her sister Norma McQuerrey of Norfolk, Va.; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and special friends Terry Burford and Joy Anderson. Joanne made her home with Daniel and Joanna Asbury, her grandchildren.

Funeral services for JoAnne are scheduled for Tuesday April 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Ansted with Pastor Bron Walker and Pastor Betty Lett officiating, interment will follow at the Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday April 28, 2026 at the Funeral Chapel from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM
