George Martin, Jr. “Junior”

George William Martin, Jr. “Junior” 80, of Danese passed away on March 19, 2026 at Lewisburg Healthcare Center.

He was born on October 23, 1945 at Danese; he was the son of the late George Martin, Sr. and Rosie Mae (Goddard) Martin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Lee Martin, in 1963.

Jr was a skilled carpenter and a master electrician who worked for several companies in his career as well as owning his own carpentry business. He was also co-owner of Danese Ashland for many years where he never met a stranger and customers always left with a smile from one of his jokes or stories.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Reva (Critchley) Martin; daughters, Sandy (Frank) Shuck of Danese, Rhonda (Brian) Neely of Bolivia, NC, Jill (Allen) Kinder of Danese; sister, Juanita (Hilbert) Hanshew of Danese; 6 grandchildren; Josh, Kaleigh, Maddy, Jessie, Weslee and Kinzee; 1 great grandchild, Iyla and another one on the way, Ivy; several nieces, nephews; extended family and many, many friends. He lived his life out loud, to the fullest, and always had a story or joke to make you smile. He will be missed by so many.

Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Allen Whitt and Mr. Donnie Hedrick officiating, Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery, Crickmer. Visitation will be from 12:30 until time of service at the funeral chapel.
