Thelma Stickler

Thelma Jean (Jones) Stickler, 80, of Meadow Bridge passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Raleigh General Hospital.

She was born on March 10, 1945 at home on Greenwood Mountain; she was the daughter of the late Grover and Kathleen Jones.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dewey Hill Stickler; youngest son, Dewey Hill Stickler, Jr. who passed away on the same day 5 years prior to her death in 2020 ; oldest son Gregory Allen Stickler in 2024 ; 2 grandchildren, Gregory Matthew Stickler and Evan Gray Simms; brother-in-law’s, James (Jim) Smith, Jesse Smith, William (David) Stickler and Melvin Richmond; sister-in-law’s, Patricia (Patty) Jones, Shirley Stickler and Elizabeth Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Anita “Sis” Stickler Simms and companion Larry Lilly of Meadow Bridge; daughter-in-law, Andria Stickler; brothers, Grover “Jimmy” (Wanda) Jones, Beury “Jr” Jones (June Smith); sisters, Delores Smith of Michigan, and Zelta (Curtis) Martin of Danese; 8 grandchildren, Cole (Dannon) , Troy (Keeli) Ian, Ryder, Autumn, Kendra (Will) , Dylan (Lexi) and Amber (Jacob); 5 great grandchildren, Tucker, Addisyn, Karsen , Ivy Kate and Jacob; 4 more due in 2026; 3 step grandchildren, Courtney, Kadee and Quinton and 4 step great grandchildren; son-in-law, Phillip Simms; sister-in-law’s, Shelva Richmond and Georgie (Marvin) Plumley both of Lockbridge; several nieces and nephews; 3 great friends, Connie Loudermilk, Marg Berry and Terri Gwinn; one special nephew, Marty Martin whom she enjoyed his random and often visits.

Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Mark Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Stickler Family Cemetery. Friends may gather with the family from 12:00 until time of service at the chapel.
